His journey began within a four-school Trust, where he started as an apprentice while studying towards his AAT qualification. Through determination, strong analytical skills, and a clear passion for the sector, Abdul quickly progressed into the role of Finance Manager, gaining invaluable hands-on experience early in his career.

Building on this foundation, Abdul went on to join a consultancy firm specialising in education finance, where he broadened his expertise across a diverse range of academy trusts and institutions. Over the years, he has supported and undertaken Chief Financial Officer (CFO) responsibilities, working closely with leadership teams to strengthen financial strategy, governance, and operational efficiency.

Abdul’s experience spans the full spectrum of financial management within the education sector—from detailed data analysis and reporting to leading large-scale projects such as centralising finance functions across multi-academy trusts to achieve greater economies of scale.
